Katie Walsh

Katie Walsh

Katie Walsh grew up in Dallas, Texas, where she was involved in theater from a young age. She graduated from Rhodes College in 2004 with a B.A. in Art History. While at Rhodes she was a founding member of the all-female a cappella group Lipstick on Your Collar. She also won an Ostrander Memphis Theater Award in 2001 for her portrayal of Little Red Riding Hood in the McCoy Theatre's production of Into the Woods.

After graduating from Rhodes, she attended and graduated from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law with her Juris Doctorate in 2009. She is currently an Assistant District Attorney (Prosecutor) in Tipton and Fayette Counties, where she has been known to break into song during court proceedings. She is also a member of Riva, a professional all-female a cappella group in Memphis, and plans to perform in Playhouse on the Square's a cappella opera A Midsummer Night's Dream.

When she's not singing or arguing, Katie enjoys big comfy sweatshirts, chocolate-dipped strawberries and watching the Memphis Tigers Basketball Team. Her personal motto is borrowed from Dolly Parton: "If you don't like the road you're on, pave another one."
